WORLD DOUBLE DUTCH SPEED CHAMPIONS - WORLD RECORD

CONGRATULATIONS TO:

Beci Dale, Rachael Dale, Sophie Trevis Smith, and Bobby Thomas for acheiving a new world record in 4 X 45 sec double dutch speed - 562

THE FOLLOWING MEDALS WERE WON BY THE GB TEAM:

GOLD - Double Dutch Speed relay

BRONZE - Overall Senior Open Team

SILVER - Double Dutch Freestyle and double dutch speed combined

BRONZE - single rope relay speed

Beci Dale also received BRONZE - 30 second speed individual

Beci is ranked 9th in the World

Rachael Dale is ranked 5th in the World for Freestyle

Steven Stannard is ranked 5th in the World

MADONNA - BWRS SKIPPERS

Beci Dale, Rachael Dale, Gemma Wong and Billie Green were chosen to perform for the making of Madonna's video, "Give it to Me" .

Unfortunately they were not part of the final video, due to a creative decision from Madonna's team.

The girls had an amazing time and met Madonna herself who was hands on with their outfits throughout the day.

Double Dutch Competition - Paris

3 teams from the UK will be taking part in the Double Dutch Championships to be held in Paris from 1st - 4th November

UCD - Dublin

The BRSA was invited to Dublin University from 3rd - 7th September to promote Rope Skipping.

Members of the Blue and White Rope Skippers, Bobby Thomas, Beci Dale,

Laura Summers, Gemma McGhee and Sue Dale - National Coach, represented the BRSA teaching and demonstrating to students, and running coaching courses during the evenings.

The trip was a huge success with interest in starting an Irish Rope Skipping Association -

the BRSA would like to say a BIG thank you for the hospitality that was shown and look forward to a return visit

Sport England - UK School Games in Coventry

Members of the Blue and White Rope Skippers represented the BRSA at the above event.

Bobby Thomas, Beci Dale, Gemma McGhee and Laura Summers, demonstrated throughout the day give people taster sessions on the sport of Rope Skipping.

They met, chatted and were photographed with the Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell.

Double Dutch DVD

The BRSA have teamed up with the NATIONAL SCHOOLS PARTNERSHIP and

WIRED ASSOCIATES to produce a tutorial Double Dutch DVD. This has been sent out to 1000 secondary school to incorperate into their PE curiculum. Literature available on line shortly to tie up with the DVD.

The DVD has clips of the Disney film Jump In included in it featuring Corben Blue.

There has been media coverage over the week, featuring on SKY SPORTS NEWS, CENTRAL NEWS, RADIO ONE, RADIO LBC to promote the DVD, links will be available soon.

Record Attempt

It has been annouced that the Wave and Swansea Sounds biggest ever Record Breaking day in South Wales on Sunday the 24th June will be supported by Xbox.

Xbox will be sponsoring three of the nine records being attemted . One of them being an attempt at 3000 people skipping at the same time for 3 minutes. The record stands at the moment as 2080.

RoundHouse Theatre Demo

Beci Dale, Billie Green, Gemma Wong from the Blue and White Rope Skippers and Caroline Maes from Handles, Belgium, performed at the RoundHouse Theatre on January 24th, a Charity event in aid of the NSPCC.

Sport England Demonstration

The Blue and White Rope Skippers were invited by Sport England to perfom a demonstration for their AGM that was held at the NEC on December 11th.

The Blue and Whites also had a photo opportunity with Lord Sebastion Coe who was there delivering a speech.

European Masters - 4th November - 2006

Congratulations to Gemma Wong, Gemma McGhee, Beci Dale, Rachael Dale and Emma Robinson.

There were 38 female competitors from nine different countries that took part in the European Masters 2006 held in Denmark on 4th November.

Beci Dale acheived 5th place, Rachael Dale 7th, Gemma McGhee 11th,

Gemma Wong 12th and Emma Robinson 26th .

Four of the girls acheived personal bests and Gemma Wong set a new British Record in Triple Unders with a score of 132

Adez TV Commercial 2006

Watch out for the TV commercial that is advertising the new juice drink ADEZ, 2 skippers from the Blue and White Rope Skippers, Beci and Rachael Dale were chosen to skip in it. Filming took part in Barcelona.

James Morrison Music Video 2006

CONGRATULATIONS to James his debut single was the highest entry at number 5 in the UK charts and his debut album has gone to NUMBER ONE

James Morrison Music Video " You Give Me Something" now on majority of music channels, including B4 and Flaunt

Members of the Blue and White Rope Skippers (Beci,Rachael,Billie,Gemma and Emma) are to feature in a new music video, the artist is James Morrison signed with Polydor Records, watch out for his name. Filming taking place in London at the Pinewood Studios on 2nd June. Go to Gallery for photos

FitPro Magazine 2006

Watch out for the August/September issue of FitPro magazine. Three members of the Blue and White Rope Skippers will be featured in this issue explaining step by step 15 double dutch moves for children and adults alike. Photos to follow

Seni Convention 2006

May 6th & 7th the BRSA were invited to the Seni Convention at the NEC, Birmingham.

Skippers from the National team performed demonstrations both days on the Power Pit stage, along with Henry Williams from Leicester and Malcolm Pugh from the Neath Rebel Ropers.

The show was a huge success for the BRSA opening the eyes of many, seeing that jumping rope is not just a way of keeping fit, but now realise what a fantastic visual demonstration it can be.
